Transmedialle is an Annual festival based in Berlin, which aims to collect all forms of art together over a period of days. It is an essential art event, which connects artists and students all over the world. The broad cultural appeal of the festival is recognized by the German federal government who supports the transmediale through its programmer for beacons of contemporary culture.
The festival I experienced during my January visit was entitled ‘Capture All’, which looks at making sense of a culture that is dependent on measurement. We are living in societies and economies defined by a global competitive drive for constant optimization.
Transmediale 2015 attempts to identify the ways in which our lives are categorized. The event gathered together works from different artists, compiled of exhibitions, conferences, performances and artwork, which were all interesting and unique in their own way. The event was amazing; it showcased free-thinking from across the globe in interesting ways which put across the difficulties in todays society.
